Habitats For Heroes™ is a housing initiative created by the team at Boxtley™ to help provide affordable housing for the many extraordinary Americans who serve every day on the front lines, making a difference in the lives of everyday people.

Those who have served abroad to protect the homeland, those who have been on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic, including: doctors, nurses, firefighters, police, EMS workers, and those who are teachers and principles.

The initiative was birthed in 2019 by JD Lee, a Principle at Boxtley™, who was formerly a career Firefighter / EMT. Mr. Lee holds a special place in his heart for those serving on the front lines. In dialogue with the team at Boxtley™, it became evident that Habitats For Heroes™ was a mission worth undertaking.

Nominees are selected via a public process. Boxtley™ then works with local, state and federal agencies, as well as public / private institutions, to facilitate the build process. During the build process, volunteers, materials suppliers, sponsors, and donors, collaborate with each other to ensure a seamless process in arriving at a brand new home for each recipient. Once completed, nominees are then welcomed into their new Boxtley™ home.
